Born and raised in the small town of Gas City, Indiana, Travis graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1998 with a degree in Social Work. As a scholarship athlete, who played both basketball and tennis, he began his career by working and traveling the country as a Juvenile Probation Officer, overseeing high-risk youth who were placed in facilities across the Midwest. Little did he know, he was building a very strong skill set in connecting with people, which would allow him to transition to a decade long run the Sales Industry.

That sales career would be successful enough for him to start his own company.  In 2013, he opened Rus & Rex Properties that he runs with his wife, Bradi, who is a licensed General Contractor and Designer.  He and his wife have rehabbed and flipped 20 homes in South Broadripple, Bates Hendricks and Fountain Square Neighborhoods of Indianapolis.  After 4 years of rehabbing properties, Travis added to his credentials and became a Licensed Broker.  He joined the Hanza Team in 2017 and has built a solid clientele with local investors building their opportunities downtown Indianapolis.  In his first full year, 2018, he was able to secure many investment opportunities for clients and he is focused on building more relationships with rookie and experienced investors looking to capitalize on the Indianapolis Real Estate Market.

Travis and his wife have a love for Mid Century Modern homes.  They were able to purchase a bank-owned Mid Century Modern home of their own, that he describes it as their 'Non-waterfront dream home".  He has a 20-year-old daughter, Victoria, and a 2-year-old son, Jetson.  They all cherish their 5-year-old poodle, Hugo Bonjasky-Curtis, who finds himself on job sites and running errands 7 days a week.
